The amount of litter and litter scooping that would be involved…frankly, it scares me.

So life at the beach continues on pretty well. For those of you who don’t know, I have been working for a wedding photographer and I have really been enjoying it. I have weddings every weekend and then edit photos during the week. It is the ideal beach bum job since I am always able to choose my own hours and work as I please. I have also been doing things on my own, a couple weddings and some portraits and such. That has been very rewarding, though it still feels strange to get paid for something I like to do so much. But I created an identity of sorts, and we’ll see where it goes!

In other news, they moved the house next to us this morning… and now my view is spectacular! It was quite the ordeal this morning and my roomate and I all watched it go down from our respective decks. The house movers had lifted the second story off the house with a very large crane earlier this week, so this morning the movers (seen movers) took away the two parts of the house. They squeezed the top story down the street first and then barely made the bottom story out second.

And then check out how much my bedroom’s deck ocean view improved! At least until they build the next huge condo building, but I imagine myself being elsewhere by then…

As much as I trust the safety of airplanes, twin propeller airplanes put me just a bit on edge. A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of riding one of these 15 passenger planes from Green Bay to Milwaukee. They had downsized the plane, and were 1 passenger over the weight limit (note that it was the WEIGHT limit, not the SEAT limit). That can’t make you feel too good about hopping on one of these puddle hoppers.

Finally, one poor soul gives up his seat for some flight vouchers, and we board the plane. I find my seat, settle in for a short flight, then look out the window, and there looms this giant propeller. Now, I’m not one to be afraid of flying, but that entire 30 minute flight, I had a hard time thinking of anything other than “If that propeller came loose and flew off, I’d be the first to go - I wouldn’t have a chance”.

Of course, statistically speaking, I know I’m quite safe on an airplane, unlike all those delusional SUV fanatics.

We did have a good time in da U.P. though for my grandparents 50th, eh.

From Savoie’s 50th.
